Interviews with local agencies - Local agencies and key community leaders were interviewed as a first outreach step.

Advisory Committee - The Advisory Committee is a multifaceted group that will convene at key project milestones.  Its purpose is to provide input to the Department and to participate in discussions about project objectives, challenges, and outcomes.  For more information about the I-16/I-75 project Advisory Committee, click here Advisory Committee Page


How will the public be INFORMED?
Public Information Meetings and Hearings - Public information meetings will be held at three key milestones in the project development process.
  • Project initiation (November 1999)
  • Preferred concept selection (October 2000)
  • Completion of draft environmental document (Summer 2002)
Local meetings upon request - Department representatives are available to attend local group meetings upon request.  Local meetings are an opportunity for specific organizations to ask questions of those directly involved in the project.  To request attendance at a meeting, contact us at the hotline or on the project website.

Project Newsletter - A project newsletter, containing up-to-date project information, will allow the community to follow the project development process.  To add your name to the mailing list, contact us at the hotline or on the project website.

Local Information Kiosk - A local information kiosk will be created and maintained to allow for timely information sharing.  Maps and graphics will be used to illustrate key points.  The information kiosk will be set up in the County Commission Office, 661 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA. by April 2000.
